33 weeks!

Gabby pulled herself up to a standing position last night!  She is growing so fast!  Before we know it she’s going to be walking along the furniture then she’s going to be walking all by herself – oh no =)  Then.. before we know it her baby brother is going to be walking by himself.. yes, right now he’s just walking on my ribs and I feel like that’s never going to end but I said the same thing when I was pregnant with Gabby.
Last Saturday we went to a Barnstormers baseball game; it was Gabby’s first game and she did incredible!  We got there around 6 p.m. and didn’t leave until after 10 p.m. and she barely fussed the entire night.  Gavin was wonderful too.. he really loves baseball and would sit and watch an entire game with no trouble at all.

I love napping with her, it doesn’t happen often but when it does it’s heavenly

and just because she’s so darn cute! [and because her brother continues to run away from my camera whenever I have it out so I have no new photos of him.]

Here’s my belly stuff for the week.. my ticker says we have 46 days to go until my due date.. thank goodness!  I am absolutely ready to meet this little man.  Yes, I am terrified about what it will be like to have a 4 year old, a 10 month old and a newborn but I’m also really ready to just get settled and figure out how our new life as a family of 5 is going to be.

How far along: 33 weeks 3 days
Weight gain: no idea - last week I was +17 lbs so I will say +18 this week.
New maternity clothes: nope.. I really am looking forward to fall so I can start wearing some of the long sleeve tops I have.. the short sleeve and 3/4 length sleeve shirts are really getting old {since I wear the same ones every single stinkin' week!}
New baby items: no - although I did find another bin of Gavin's old clothes and found some super cute newborn and 3 month outfits I had forgotten we had =)
Stretch marks: yep.. and unfortunately I think there are more than what I can really see..
Sleep: well if I could just stop getting up every couple of hours to pee I'd be okay.. it's funny how for a few days I don't use the potty at all during the night then other days it's constant.. leave my bladder alone little man!
Best moment of the week: watching Gavin and Gabby play with each other - he can really make her laugh!
Food cravings: Texas Roadhouse.. sweet tea and rolls.. delicious! {and expensive.. boo!}
Gender: BOY!!  This is a definite =)
Labor signs: I've definitely been contracting a lot more recently but I don't really think it has anything to do with labor.. I think it's just my uterus growing and getting agitated.  I am really not looking forward to giving birth.. again.. but I really am ready to meet this fella.
Belly button in or out: it's basically an outie.. looks pretty strange.
What I miss: I am going to be 100% honest here.. I miss everything about not being pregnant.. I really am so tired of being pregnant.. it's not fun or enjoyable anymore.. yes, it's beautiful and amazing what my body is doing but I'm tired.. I do feel blessed, genuinely blessed, to have had 3 healthy pregnancies but I really am ready to have my body back and hold my stinker on the outside.
What I'm looking forward to: holiday weekend; hopefully accomplishing some stuff around the house to prepare for Gum Drop; maybe planning a date night with my hubby if we can find a babysitter.. I miss him terribly..
Weekly wisdom: O Lord, when I am bewildered and the world is all noise and confusion around me and I don't know which way to go and am frightened, then be with me. Put your hand on my shoulder and let your strength invade my weakness and your light burn the mist from my mind. Help me to step forward with faith in the way I should go.
Milestones:  This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds and has passed the 17-inch mark. He's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal. (The pressure on the head during birth is so intense that many babies are born with a cone head-like appearance. These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as his brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood.

something new.

Getting to know YOU

I just found this blog.. and although it’s not Sunday I’m going to answer the question anyway.  {I really should be working on my to-do list and working on stuff around the house but I’ve been contracting a lot tonight so I’m just going to take it easy.. there is always tomorrow for the to-do list}

1. If you accidently knick a car in a parking lot..Do you leave a note or do you get the heck out of there? I think this depends on what a ‘knick’ is – if my door accidentally hits and there’s barely a mark I would likely just leave but if there’s a decent mark I would certainly leave a note, wait for the owner to come out or try to go and find the owner.

2. Love your body or plastic surgery?  HAHA!!  This is not a good question to ask a woman who is 8 months pregnant.. and who has been pregnant 68 of the last 74 weeks.  I am at the heaviest weight I ever remember being and I am completely 100% uncomfortable with my body so I say please bring on the plastic surgery!!  I actually don’t know that I could ever go through with it or be willing to pay for it but a lady can dream ;)

3. What about your favorite blog(s) continues to drive you back?  I read a real good mix of blogs – I really enjoy ones full of hope, humor, honesty and real life ‘stuff’ – I enjoy photography blogs, family blogs, food blogs, decorating blogs – like I said, a good mix.

4. What percent of your blog is BS just to make your life seem more interesting than it really is?  definitely no BS here.. what’s the point.. it’s all real.. take it or leave it =)

5. If you had to give up one type of meat for the rest of your life, what would it be?  I think I’d be just fine if I couldn’t eat meat again.. I’m not a big meat fan.. I don’t eat fish at all..yuck.. I’d easily give up pork too.. oh, except I do love a yummy Christmas ham.. I’ll keep the red meat and chicken but the rest could hit the road and I wouldn’t complain too much.

6. How often to you eat out? too often.. I’m not a good cook.. I don’t like to cook.. I’m a picky eater.. it’s so much easier to just pay someone else to make your dinner for you =)  this will definitely change when Gum Drop arrives..

7. Skinny jeans or boot cut jeans?  I would never ever ever wear skinny jeans.. they are absolutely not made for my pear shaped body.. no no no way!  Boot cut works just fine.  (don’t get me wrong, skinny jeans look great on other people, just not this girl!)

8. If you caught your spouse cheating would you forgive, divorce, or plan your kill?  Hit the road Jack Steven!  On a serious note, I really don’t ever worry about my hubbs cheating but if I did ever catch him I really think that would be the end.  I can’t say for absolute certainty without knowing the situation but I’m 99.98% sure our marriage would be over.  It would be absolutely terrible and heartbreaking [and actually makes me really sad to even think about] but all that our marriage was built upon would be destroyed..

Gum Drop = 32 weeks.

I really have a lot of work stuff to get done tonight so I can’t do a fun, long post.  We had a crisis situation at work today which interfered with most of my work day so now I’m stuck doing stuff at home.. at 9 p.m. but oh well.  I’ve been feeling pretty junky lately, definitely huge and uncomfortable but I know I still have a ways to go.  I will be full term in 5 weeks so at that point Gum Drop can come whenever he wants.  We still have a good bit to do around the house to prepare for his arrival – we really need to clean, organize, rearrange and make room for him to join our family =)  I need to get his laundry done and figure out exactly where his clothes are going to go.  Maybe this weekend hubbs and I can get some stuff moved and rearranged.. and maybe we can get his crib together =)

I finally took photos of some of Gum Drop’s goodies:

005 009 012 016 018 019

the bear outfit will likely be the one that he wears for his newborn photos and for his trip home.  It is a little heavier so I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what the weather is like around his birth.  Gav and Gabby wore adorable teddy bear outfits in their newborn photos and for their trip home so I’d like Gum Drop to do the same!  I like that this outfit isn’t blue and it just looks so soft and comfy for a newborn babe =)

How far along: 32 weeks 3 days
Weight gain: according to the Dr’s scale I am up 17 lbs.  I was up 24 lbs with Gabby at 32 weeks so I should be content with 17 but it still seems like a lot.
New maternity clothes: I got a shirt on clearance b/c I had to return the one I bought about a month ago.. it really was just too small.
New baby items: nope, nothing new recently.
Stretch marks: blah.. they really are looking pretty bad.. I’m actually a little embarrassed to post my belly photos because they are definitely more noticeable now but I guess that’s part of the process.. I look like a tiger =)
Sleep: lately it’s been okay but it’s hard to find a comfortable position; thankfully Miss Gabby has been sleeping well through the night!
Best moment of the week: seeing the babe on ultrasound Friday; being told that he looks very healthy and is growing well!  Currently he weighs 4 pounds 10 ounces and is in the 74th percentile for his growth =)  He’s going to be a big fella just like his big brother was!
Food cravings: no real crazy ones this week.. apple cider sounds yummy!
Gender: team blue!
Labor signs: nope.
Belly button in or out: flat and funny lookin’
What I miss: my normal ‘pre-Gabby pregnancy’ clothes
What I'm looking forward to: FALL!!!  cooler weather, pumpkins, mums, beautiful leaves, fairs and fair food, parades, Gav’s birthday & Gum Drops arrival!
Weekly wisdom: please remember to use your turn signal.. it’s there for a reason.. thank you =)

Milestones:  By now, your baby weighs 3.75 pounds, pick up a large jicama and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus. You're gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, she'll gain a third to half of her birth weight during the next 7 weeks as she fattens up for survival outside the womb. She now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). Her skin is becoming soft and smooth as she plumps up in preparation for birth.

photos & belly stuff.

Sorry I missed my normal Tuesday post; I know how sad everyone was ;)  I was super sick – pregnancy discomforts and a nasty cold meant an 8 p.m. bedtime for this chick.  Here are some random photos from our weekend and from last week. (I didn’t edit any of these so some aren’t that great but editing them right now is just too much work!)  On Saturday we had a pig roast at our aunt and uncle’s house and it was tons of fun!  It’s nice when my family and Steven’s family get together and hang out – although I didn’t get any photos of the kids with my brothers – I’m pretty sure my mom got them on her camera.  {Mom, I need to get them from you, please!}  I also don’t have many photos of Gav because if he wasn’t in the pool he was off running with the big kids and was definitely not wanting to hang out with his momma!  The weather was beautiful, the kids were very well-behaved, the food was delicious and it was just tons of fun. (can’t wait for next year when I can enjoy a few beers by the pool!!)

Now, my normal belly/pregnancy quiz stuff..

How far along: 31 weeks 3 days
Weight gain: I actually haven’t been on the scale in the past week – my guess would be +13 or 14 lbs.
New maternity clothes: no but I wish I had extra $ for some new pants; I’m running out of comfortable stuff and I actually had to use a hair tie to ‘button’ a pair of my maternity pants the other day.. super uncomfortable!
New baby items: just some new clothes – Gavin picked out a nice warm jammie outfit for the winter – and I may have found an outfit for his newborn photo and car ride home!  I’ve been a big slakcer with photos of his new stuff.. I really do need to get on that =)
Stretch marks: no new ones.. thank goodness!
Sleep: well last night since I was sick I went to bed around 8 p.m. – and the night before I went to bed at 9:30 p.m. so I’ve been getting a lot of rest lately, but of course I’m still exhausted.  Potty trips have decreased but it’s still wicked hard to find a comfy position.
Best moment of the week: spending time with family over the weekend; going out to lunch with my mom today; watching Gabby continue to master crawling!
Food cravings: a good slice of pizza – I worked at a pizza shop in college so I’m pretty picky about my pizza!
Gender: BOY =)
Labor signs: oh my goodness I am so tired of these stupid contractions and cramps are really starting to bother me; I’ve been having at least 2 to 3 an hour, if not more; YUCK!
Belly button in or out: very very close to being a full-time outie!
What I miss: definitely this week I’d say drinking wine; not worrying about taking medicine; wearing normal clothes and sleeping on my belly.
What I'm looking forward to: my ultrasound on Friday – hopefully Mr. Gum Drop isn’t breech anymore – and hopefully this placenta thing my midwife is worried about is no longer there..
Weekly wisdom: let your spouse know you appreciate them; Steven – THANK YOU for all you do for me and the kids; thank you for letting me rest last night when I was miserable; thank you for putting the kids to bed; thank you for offering to let me rest today; just one big THANK YOU =)  I LOVE YOU!!

Milestones: This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. She weighs about 3.3 pounds, try carrying four navel oranges and is heading into a growth spurt.  She can turn her head from side to side, and her arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath her skin.  She's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.
