Mr. Gum Drop – 30 weeks!

I need to get moving with paying some bills so I can get up to bed, read a little then get some sleep.. I will keep this short and sweet =)

30 week quiz:
How far along: 30 weeks 3 days!
Weight gain: +13 lbs now
New maternity clothes: yes, I did get a new shirt from Kohl’s for $3.60!
New baby items: yes, I ordered a crocheted hat for him and I love it – I will try to take a photo of it and post it soon!
Stretch marks: no new ones.. thank goodness!
Sleep: certainly harder to get comfortable and to roll from side to side – potty trips have been less this past week, which has really been nice!
Best moment of the week: surprising a friend and finally putting my regret of letting our friendship fade away to rest.
Food cravings: plums.
Gender: sweet baby BOY!!
Labor signs: these stupid braxton hicks contractions are getting o.l.d.
Belly button in or out: very very close to being a full-time outie
What I miss: putting my pants on with ease; feeling ‘in shape’ – last night I had a rude awakening – our 12 year old dog can get up the stairs faster than me – NOT cool.
What I'm looking forward to: a huge pig roast this weekend with family and friends to celebrate our cousin’s 21st birthday and our aunt’s 50th birthday – it should be a blast!!
Weekly wisdom: "Put Your Past Regrets To Rest!”

Milestones: Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds, like a head of cabbage. A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)

Here are some fun photos of the kiddos – recently Gabby has started to really enjoys puffs – and tonight I gave her her new sippy cup for the first time.  She had more fun chewing on the cup and didn’t really get much juice but that’s okay.  I will continue to introduce it to her each day and eventually she’ll be chugging away!

And how cute is my toolman?!!  I think we may need to get him a tool belt for his birthday – which is less than 2 months away – holy smokes!!

ABCs

I don't remember where I saw this survey but thought it would be a little change of pace.. I have about a  million other things I need to be doing right now but my brain is mush so this is much easier (and more fun!)

A- My AIR CONDITIONER is set on: about 73 - I need it cool with this heat!

B- My BEDROOM theme is: plain, boring, plain and boring =)  our furniture matches, that's about it - we have random bedding, random curtains and random stuff in random places.. no theme whatsoever!

C- The CAR in the driveway is: Ford Fusion & Dodge Minivan

D- My DESK looks: my work desk is usually fairly organized.. our home desk is slightly less organized with random paperwork shoved here and there.

E- The EXACT time I wake up daily is: it's never the same - it just depends on when Gabby and Gav wake up.. typically between 6:15 a.m. and 7 a.m.

F- The FIRST thing I wash in the shower is: my hair.

G- My GARAGE is filled with: my car, Steven's motorcycle, Gavin's toys, coolers, random tools and other typcial 'garage stuff'

H- My HOUSE is: 2 story, 3 bedroom, 1 1/2 baths, 2 car garage.

I- If you peeked INSIDE my bedroom you'd see: laundry, a dog cage, typical bedroom furniture, a bassinet, a full length mirror, cross stich pieces my Grammie made me as a little girl, a TV.. and a little bit of a mess =)

J- My favorite JUICE is: apple juice.

K- The best part of my KITCHEN is: the dishwasher =) and all the cupboard space!

L- The LAST person who visited my home was: my mother-in-law: she babysits 2 days a week.

M- The last piece of MAIL for me was: coupons from Bath & Body Works

N- My NEIGHBORS think I'm: probably super duper lazy because our yard is a mess =)

O- If you OPENED my fridge you'd see: lots.. I went grocery shopping today =)

P- My last house PARTY was:  I had a MaryKay party back at the end of June.

Q- A QUICK meal I like to fix is:  grilled cheese & soup!

R- My favorite ROOM of the house is:  our TV/family room.

S- The SHAMPOO brand I use: I don't ever stick with one thing.. typcially it's whatever is on sale.

T- My largest TELEVISION is: in the TV/family room.. I think it's 52 inches??

U- UNDER my bed you will find:  the dress I bought for the first wedding Steven and I were planning before we found out we were pregnant and decided to get married in Hawaii.. I WILL wear that dress one day =)
V- The last time I VACUUMED was: hahahahaha.. no idea!

W- Looking out my WINDOW I see:  the back part of the development.

X- I wish I had X-TRA:  money so I didn't have to work and could stay home with my kiddos.

Y- My YARD is:  yuck yuck yuck.  I hate it. hate it. hate it. Steven keeps it looking decent but it's no where near as nice as it could be.

Z- ZZZZZZZ My bedtime is:  I always try to be in bed by 10:30 or 11p.m. but some nights it takes me a while to get comforatble so I never fall asleep right away.

Gabrielle is 8 months old!

Holy crap.. how is that even possible.  Oh my little sweet potato is such a doll, we just love her like crazy!  She is such a fun little lady and is really starting to do a lot of fun things.  I’m so excited to come home after work to see her beautiful smile! I wish there was a way to prepare her for Gum Drop’s arrival – she’s just way too young to have any clue at all.

  • You’ve mastered the ‘army’ crawl and really aren’t too far away from the full-blown crawl!
  • You’re a great sitter =)
  • Bath time is super super fun for you!
  • You are still in your infant car seat but I think we may make the big switcheroo sometime soon – after all, your baby brother is going to need that seat in a couple months!
  • You are still wearing size 6-9 month clothes
  • Size 3 diapers – we use Target brand now and they really aren’t that bad!
  • You’re an awesome eater – 3 ‘meals’ a day – usually fruit for breakfast, veggie and fruit for lunch and meat and veggie for dinner - plus 3-5 bottles a day
  • Momma tried to give you puffs but all you wanted to do was smash them in your hands
  • Playing with your spoon is a favorite activity!
  • You have really started to interact with Big Brother – you laugh at one another all of the time and you have your own way of calling for him when you can’t find him
  • You absolutely love music!
  • You seem more interested in Big Brother’s toys than your own
  • You have 2 adorable teeth on the bottom
  • Separation anxiety has kicked in full gear – not fun!
  • You have the cutest little giggle.. you love it when we tickle you!
  • I love.love.love your nose and your beautiful blue eyes.. I never imagined I’d have a blue eyed child but my oh my they sure are gorgeous!

I took 56 photos this evening and they are all crappy.. they are all shots of the top of her head or of her holding her sign in front of her face.. bummer.  Maybe I will try again tomorrow.  I’m so glad I got those onesie stickers for Gum Drop, no more silly signs.

29 weeks.

I am beyond tired so I am going to post photos and my normal belly stuff then call it a night.  Hopefully I can post more fun stuff tomorrow but my body is telling me I just really really really need some good solid rest.  [I hope Miss Gabby decides her body needs some good solid rest too and sleeps through the night!]  Here are some photos from our weekend and of Gav with his new bike =)  He’s so darn cute!!  (I feel like a bad momma because I don’t have many photos of him but he really has boycotted my camera lately and refuses to let me take his picture.

He’s my little athlete – always playing some kind of sport – hockey, baseball, football, golf – he’s probably going to have some expensive hobbies!

Week 29 quiz:

How far along: 29 weeks 3 days
Weight gain: +12 or 13 lbs.
New maternity clothes: nope.
New baby items: none in the past week – which is good for the bank account! Sleep: blah.. awful.. but I know I get more rest than my hubbs so I should just keep my mouth shut
Best moment of the week: hearing Gum Drop’s heartbeat at the DR today =)
Stretch marks: yep – still using my lotion – still hoping no new ones appear!
Movement: oh yes! He likes to be up early in the morning, usually around 3 or 4 a.m. after I’ve used the potty – that’s his happy hour I guess!
Food cravings: honey mustard & chocolate.
Gender: BOY!!
Belly button in or out: almost a complete outie.
Labor signs: no.
What I miss: lets be honest, there’s a lot I miss about not being pregnant – I feel blessed to be able to experience growing a little one in my tummy but I’m already at the point where I’ve had enough.. and I still have 8 weeks to go before I’m even full term.. I know I can do it.. and I know it will be worth it!
What I'm looking forward to: the weekend =)
Weekly wisdom: do your best to stay on top of baby books and photo albums;  it’s very easy to get behind..

Milestones: Your baby now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds (like a butternut squash) and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is growing bigger to make room for his developing brain. To meet his increasing nutritional demands, you'll need plenty of protein, vitamins C, folic acid, and iron. And because his bones are soaking up lots of calcium, be sure to drink your milk (or find another good source of calcium, such as cheese, yogurt, or enriched orange juice). This trimester, about 250 milligrams of calcium are deposited in your baby's hardening skeleton each day.

BIKE!

My mom bought Gav his first 'big boy' bike yesterday and he is lovin' it!!  (which is a total shock b/c he was completely against Steven and I buying him a bike for the past few months..)  We rode around for a while yesterday and he did awesome =)  I'll post some photos later.  A big thank you to Grammie, Shayna and Lucas for successfully pulling off the 'get Gavin to ride a bike plan!'  And another big thank you to my Aunt Connie who treated all of us to Gap Diner yesterday - finally my craving was fulfilled!!

hjiowo,z,z;aopqooqopa'a''''akl;sdopwfjwef  ---> Gavin says THANK YOU for my cool bike and bell Grammie!!

And - we definitely have two teeth now - Gabby's bottom 2 teeth have broken through and made their debut!  I will try my best to get a photo of them to post.

Oh yea, you know your belly is rapidly expanding when you have to use a hair-tie on maternity pants to keep them buttoned.. lovely.  What happens when maternity pants don't even fit your preggo tummy??!

Happy Sunday!

hiccups.

I started to feel Gum Drops hiccup's for the first time late Tuesday night.  He has them again right now and it's so funny.  I can remember hiccups with Gavin and Gabby too.. just another joyful part of growing a human in your tummy =)

PS: August marks the beginning of our 'debt snowball' Dave Ramsey plan/budget.. I may need encouragement and prayers to stay focused and make wise decisions.. so thanks in advance!
